What’s the speech all about?
STEVE PUTS INTO PERSPECTIVE THE EXTRAORDINARY PERFORMANCE STRATEGIES AND PLANS REQUIRED TO ACHIEVE OUTSTANDING OLYMPIC RESULTS.
Steve tells the story of the work behind the men’s 8+. As one of the team, working out -“How the boat can go faster!” Steve’s innovative and intuitive approach helped unlock areas that created boat speed.
He asks, “What small change can make the biggest difference?”, to encourage a switch in thinking to ‘focus on what’s really important’.
But ‘the what’ is only one side of the coin and Steve artfully explains how working together effectively is where high-performance truly lies. His book ‘How to Support a Champion’ explains the process for getting the best from a champion’s performance is as much about how you work with people as it is about science.
But what happened since that moment in Sydney? Steve went on to apply the Will It Make The Boat Go Faster? Performance Principles to the entire GB system across 4 Olympic cycles.
In his speech, Steve zoom’s out and shares the characteristics of high-performance teams that persist in sports and business, challenging organisations to think differently about how they approach organisational performance.
Rooted in the Will It Make The Boat Go Faster? Performance Principles, it is an engaging, motivational and inspiring speech.
Steve’s speech will take 45 – 60 minutes and is tailored to fit with your key messages. It can be delivered both virtually and face to face. Click below for more information on the speech process and optional workshops to ensure your delegates can immediately begin to apply the ideas.
Steve is a fantastic motivational speaker. Not only has he got a great story to tell but he does it in an engaging and thought-provoking way. He also highlighted the key insights which were relevant to our business very clearly. Steve received fantastic feedback from our managers who found him really inspiring, warm and engaging. I’d thoroughly recommend him to others.
